This piece was inspired by the interest in dragons of recent years, both in media, and historical references. Dragons were revered as majestic guardians of the earth and powerful symbols of sovereignty which possessed great wisdom. Druids believed that they connected mortals to the earth's magic and hidden healing waters. In the popular TV series, House of Dragons, they represented lineage and power. The carve Dara knot symbolizes strength, wisdom, and endurance and was often used on armor and weaponry. In my jewelry, I use nontraditional materials to tell a story and reflect on the things that inspire me. I change, grow and experiment with new materials every day.

This piece was inspired by a recent trip to Whidbey Island where the starfish are scattered everywhere on the rocky beaches. I love their jewel-like texture, and colors. Starfish symbolize regeneration, divine guidance and infinite love. The contrast of the dark water of Puget Sound and the glorious starfish that come from it has always inspired me.
